As we ring in 2020, we welcome new wedding trends for the new decade. Although there are some differences of opinions between wedding professionals, we have found the top wedding trends that everyone can agree on for the new year.

For this year, the “wanderlust” themed wedding is less about adding travel-inspired décor and more about embracing an epic locale. It speaks to experiences-over-materials and produces some seriously swoon-worthy wedding pics!

With Benham Hall located in the heart of Sunriver, creating a wanderlust theme is easy to do. Highlight your favorite part or parts of the beautiful Pacific Northwest...

Loving embrace next to the Deschutes River

or a kiss in the forest, escaping to a lake for some post-ceremony scenic shots or a photo shoot of the bridal party framed by majestic mountains!

And the location of your photos will be where everyone will want to visit!

Magical Mysticism

Mysticism is in for 2020 and combines all things spiritually charged: crystals, the burning of sage and palo santo and even “aura” photo booths. Make it work for you and your unique style to create a sacred space for your special day. We love how this couple incorporated crystals and florals in their arbor.

Dress To Impress

When it comes to suits and tuxedos, blue is the new black. Navy, teal and cobalt hued jackets are trending, while accessories of all kinds continue to be the favored way to really personalize a look.

Although the veil will always be classic, more brides are opting for jeweled hair accessories such as pearls, rhinestones and tiaras as well as keeping wedding day hair au naturel and fuss-free.

For the bridesmaid dresses, think non-traditional and more eclectic over matchy-matchy.

Keep it personal

One trend that will never go out of style is keeping your wedding personal and unique to your personalities and love for each other. This can be done in so many ways with personalized touches throughout the wedding whether it’s including

Have your your pup in the ceremony

Make DIY bar that will be used in your new home

Personalize the reception with your favorite lawn games

Your guests will feel that special connection for you and your soon-to-be-spouse and the love you both will share for life.

Delicious food and drink always make the holiday season merry and bright. Adding festive cocktails (or mocktails) to your next party is a sure-fire way to get everyone in the holiday spirit. The holidays have inspired us to share a few of our favorite beer, wine and nonalcoholic drinks that are sure to be crowd pleasers. Cheers!

Who said beer has to be boring. Skip the vodka and add the breakfast beer to brunch. It’s easy, spicy and tastes great with a simple scramble or your favorite benedict.

Breakfast Beer

Light beer like Pabst Blue Ribbon

Tomato juice

DIRECTIONS: Pour 3 oz tomato juice into a measuring cup, add about a teaspoon of sriracha (one solid squeeze of the big bottle), add 4 oz light beer and give it all a stir. Fill your glass with ice and pour in the mixture. Add lime wedges and celery sticks for garnish.

Our next beer cocktail is not only delicious but comes from one of our favorite breweries – Sunriver Brewing Company. Enjoy dessert and after dinner drink in one with the Cocoa Cow Float.

Cocoa Cow Float

12 oz bottle of Sunriver Brewing Cocoa Cow Chocolate Milk Stout

1 carton of your favorite vanilla ice cream

Whipped cream

Chocolate sprinkles

16 oz glass

Carefully pour Sunriver Brewing Cocoa Cow Chocolate Milk Stout into the glass. Scoop ice cream into glass. Top with a dollop of whipped cream, add chocolate sprinkles and a cherry on top. Enjoy!

Every party deserves a fun, festive drink. We recommend the Ho-Ho-Holiday Sangria. It’s an easy to make wine cocktail perfect for any holiday gathering.

Holiday Sangria

2 750ml bottles Pinot Grigio or Chardonnay

3/4 cup sparkling apple cider

1/4 cup sugar

1/4 cup cranberries, halved

3/4 cup cranberries, whole

1 Granny Smith apple, chopped

3 rosemary sprigs

Garnish: rosemary sprigs

Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher. Stir together with a large wooden spoon to help the sugar dissolve. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving. Serve chilled with a garnish of rosemary sprigs. Make sure to get some of the fruit in every glass!

When the temperature drops, there's only one thing to do get everyone over – serve Mulled Wine and cozy socks!

Mulled Wine

4 cups apple cider

1 (750-ml) bottle red wine, such as Cabernet Sauvignon

1/4 cup honey

2 cinnamon sticks

1 orange, zested and juiced

4 whole cloves

3 star anise

4 oranges, peeled, for garnish

Combine the cider, wine, honey, cinnamon sticks, zest, juice, cloves and star anise in a large saucepan, bring to a boil and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes. Pour into mugs, add an orange peel to each and serve. To keep it warm, transfer the mulled wine into a crockpot on low.

Offering up a few mocktails and nonalcoholic options at this year's holiday soirée is the perfect way to make everyone feel special, kids and nondrinkers alike.

If you are looking for a hands-off way to serve drinks for everyone at your holiday party, we recommend big batch punches like Christmas Punch. We guarantee everyone will be going back for seconds.

Christmas Punch

5 cups Tropical Punch

1 cup cranberry juice

1 cup pineapple juice

1/2 cup lemon juice

4-5 cups Ginger Ale

1 pint raspberry sherbet

Make sure all ingredients are chilled. Combine all juices into a large punch bowl. Add the ginger slowly to keep as much fizz as possible. Add scoops of raspberry sherbet and let sit for a few minutes. Serve with a ladle.

Fizz is always fun so we recommend adding the Cranberry Fizz to all your new year celebrations.

Cranberry Fizz

3 ounces of sparkling cider or ginger ale

3 ounces of cran-apple juice

Splash of lemon or lime juice

3 tablespoon of sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon completely blended

Rub a lemon or lime around the rim of your glass and then dip into the sugar/cinnamon mix.

Fill the glass with ice.

Add the cran-apple.

Add a splash of fresh juice of lemon or lime.

Top off with sparkling cider or ginger ale

Whatever your favorite go to mocktail, wine punch or beer cocktail is, we hope you enjoy it with great company and tasty treats. We wish everyone a very merry holiday season and happy new year. Cheers!

Meet Hayley and Will! We just can’t get enough of this couple… or their wedding. And since we keep posting pictures of their wedding on Benham Hall at SHARC Instagram and obsessing over the cutest details they had, we thought we would highlight their whole wedding for some winter wedding inspiration!

Candlelight filled Benham Hall as romance filled the air.....

… you could feel the love between these two – from uttering their “I dos” to a first dance as husband and wife.

Hayley and Will wanted their wedding to be elegant, yet fun. Tables were decorated with geometric centerpieces. The guest book highlighted everything that was important to them.

The menu included their favorite foods – pizza AND a donut bar!

There was also a Nintendo gaming setup in a corner for guests to enjoy. A photo booth also allowed guests to leave funny polaroid selfies and sweet notes in their guest book.

And the dress….

The bride looked stunning in a strapless dress with sweetheart neckline. The beaded lace sparkled in the candlelight like a thousand diamonds.

This wedding is another reminder of why we love our job. We get to celebrate the most beautiful moments with clients who then become a part of our family. We can’t wait for the upcoming winter wedding season and wish all our wedded couples a lifetime of happiness.

Congratulations Hayley and Will!
